Breanne Jamieson

Principal Horn

With RMSO since season 6

Breanne grew up in Okotoks, Alberta and currently resides in Calgary, Alberta.  She began playing horn in the school music program at the age of twelve and was instantly fascinated. Breanne studied horn with the RMSO’s second horn, Kristin Stearn, in high school.

Breanne then attended the University of British Columbia where she received her Bachelor of Music. Afterwards, she went on to receive a scholarship to attend Indiana University for her Masters of Music. As a student, Breanne was lucky enough to spend her summers playing for the National Academy Orchestra and the National Youth Orchestra of Canada.

After graduating from her Masters, Breanne returned to Canada, where she won the position of Principal horn of the Kamloops Symphony in November of 2017.

As a freelancer, Breanne has performed with many ensembles, including the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, Foothills Brass, Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra and the Vancouver Island Symphony.

Breanne recently completed her Bachelors of Education Degree and is now teaching grade 3 and Music. She is thrilled to be joining this great orchestra and looks forward to meeting the community!
